Compsn. for prodn. of layers contg. fungicides on substrate surfaces, which is based on at least one silane cpd., at least one fungicide and at least one tetravalent titanium and/or zirconium cpd., is prepd. by: (a) mixing 50-99.9 wt.% of silane cpd. of formula Rn(R2Z)pSiX(4-n-p) (I) and 0.1-50 wt.% of a titanium and/or zirconium alkoxide of formula M(OR1)4 (II); and (b) addn. of 200-40000 ppm (based on the sum of Rn(R2Z)pSiX(4-n-p) (I) and M(OR1)4 (II) of a fungicide. (each X = H, OH, 1-22C alkoxy or 2-22C acyloxy; R = 1-20C alkyl, 2-20C alkyl, 6-10C aryl, 7-28C alkyaryl, 3-22C alkylalkenyl or 8-28C alkenylaryl; R2 = as R but opt. interrupted by O, S or N atoms; Z = epoxy or glycidyloxy; p = 1, 2 or 3; n = 0, 1, 2 or 3, provided that p+n is not greater than 4; m = Ti and/or Zr; R1 = 1-6C alkyl). USE/ADVANTAGE - Useful for metal (esp. Al) or plastic substrates and has high stability even over several months storag
