Active suspension with cornering stability - has front wheels linked by stabiliser with compensating drive to counteract differential displacements across vehicle

The suspension has both front wheel fitted with a separate damper with three hardness settings to control the vehicle dynamics. The two wheel suspensions are linked by a stabiliser (48) incorporating a compensating drive (46) which is activated in either direction to counteract opposing movements in the two sides of the suspension, i.e. to counteract cornering movements. The ends of the stabiliser operate on control arms (18) hinged on the chassis with one end and linked the wheel supports with the other end. A central controller operates the compensating drive and regulates the hardness in the separate dampers w.r.t. outputs from several sensors measuring vehicle parameters. ADVANTAGE - Improved cornering control, improved stability and handling to provide stable driving characteristics.
