<p>The present invention relates to a new process for obtaining alpha -aminoalkanephosphonic acids and/or salts or esters of general formula (I): <IMAGE> with R1, R2, which are identical or different, chosen from a hydrogen atom, a linear or branched alkyl group with one to six carbon atoms, or an alkali metal or alkaline-earth metal atom. R3 = a hydrogen atom or an alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or aralkyl group, it being possible for these groups to be optionally substituted by one or a number of heteroatoms, preferably halogen.
