The router attachment (2) is mounted to a conventional screw gun (4) with a router bit (12) mounted in a chuck (14). The screwdriver tip (52, Fig. 2, not shown) and the screwdriver shaft (53, Fig. 2, not shown) of the screw gun (4) are received in the router housing (5) and drive the input shaft (18) which in turn, via a step-up gear, drives the output shaft (28) and thus the router bit (12). The output shaft therefore rotates at a higher rate than the input shaft. The router attachment is used in the construction of interior walls and partitions covered in drywall material so that only one tool is needed to both install the screws and to cut the sheets of drywall. <IMAGE> |
