The bomb or shell (10) is placed in a container (1) closed by a tightly fitting cover (2). The container is then raised to the sea surface. On the surface, the pressure in the container is reduced to atmospheric pressure, checking that the gas is not released, after which the container can be opened and the object destroyed. If there is a risk that gas will be released, the contents in the container can be frozen to a unit before the container is opened. Alternatively, the container can be put into a pressure chamber, in which the pressure is regulated to the same pressure as in the container before the latter is opened and the object destroyed. |
