The invention relates to coating mineral aggregate with blown bitumen. This invention forms part of a wearing course or surface treatment. When a wearing course is applied or a surface treatment is carried out, a binder is sprayed onto the road surface which is then finished by road metal (hard core) being scattered thereon. The invention will be used as a scattering material to finish such a wearing course or surface treatment.
