PURPOSE:To prevent not only the abnormal heating but also the thermal damage of an electronic part, the ignition, etc., by soldering the electrodes at both ends of a surge absorbing element, and providing a spring member which energizes the surge absorbing element so as to separate it from a base material, between the barrel of the surge absorbing element and the base material. CONSTITUTION:For a surge absorber, in case that surge voltage is applied instantaneously, a fuse 18 does not fuse, and solder 21 does not fuse, either, and the surge absorbing element 14 absorbs the surge. A large current flows continuously to lines 11 and 12 with overvoltage due to the contact, etc., with a power source line of the input lines 11 and 12, the fuse 18 fuses. Moreover, when the current below the rated current of the fuse 18 flows with overvoltage, the surge absorbing element itself heats. By this heating, the solder 21, which has fixed the electrodes 14a and 14b at both sides to a base material 6, fuses, and the elasticity of a spring material 22 separates the surge absorbing element 14 from the base material 16. Hereby, not only the abnormal heating but also the thermal damage of an electronic part, the ignition, etc., can be prevented. |
