Transmission for cycles including a grouping of three chain wheels to the bottom bracket/assembly, driving, via a single chain moving sideways, a rear hub equipped with several sprockets, characterised by the presence at the levers (1, 2) for controlling the derailers, the device including means (3) for guiding two movable elements (4a) intervening in the operating fields of the said levers in order selectively to form stops allowing chain movements to be carried out between chain wheels, by adjacent pairs, by means of an operation of a lever until it comes into sharp abutment. The said movable elements (4a) are in the form of rods defining stop pieces, located parallel to one another and parallel to the axis of rotation of the levers, and are provided with mechanical return means (5) with manual operating means and interact with cams (6) located directly on the levers. <IMAGE>
