<p>PURPOSE:To simplify the configuration by using a code book in common. CONSTITUTION:Vector processing devices 150a-150c or vector processing devices 150b, 150d apply vector processing so that vector forming orders of picture elements in a time region are made opposite in horizontal and vertical directions. Furthermore, band data (LHLVHHLV and LHLVLHHV) passing through a low pass filter for horizontal and vertical directions in a sub-band coder being at a prestage at final sub band coding are regarded to be reduced band data (HHLV and LHHV) passing through combination of the same filter finally. Thus, the both are regarded to have almost similar components. Then a code book 154a is used in common by applying vector quantization coding in vector quantization coders 152a-152d.</p> |
