PURPOSE:To obtain an improved durability by painting a perfluoropolyether lubricant which is refined by using a specified compound. CONSTITUTION:A marketed lubricant is refined by using a compound which is shown by an expression (R1 and R2 are selected from H, methyl group, methoxy group, ethoxy group, or -CH2OH). Viscosity of the lubricant becomes higher and lubrication characteristics are improved. Furthermore, a low molecular constituent with a high hygroscopic property which is contained in the lubricant is eliminated for achieving a high hydrophobic property. Therefore, a magnetic recording medium where this lubricant is coated does not change lubrication characteristics even under a high moisture environment, thus enabling durability by C.S.S. test to be improved. |
