The process consists in casting, with laminar flow, a thin stream of monomer containing a polymerisation initiator into a medium limited externally by a tube and consisting of the same monomer but without initiator, in allowing the polymerisation initiator to diffuse from the central thin stream into the external monomer medium without, however, its reaching the periphery of the said medium, and in triggering the polymerisation reaction of the monomer of the said thin stream and of the monomer of the medium which contains the initiator that has diffused. <IMAGE>
