PURPOSE:To provide an infrared image pickup device which does not require an additional temperature measuring sensor, which is provided so that thermal conduction is obtained, for detecting the temperature of an infrared optical system, whose constitution is simple and which hardly causes the deterioration of the infrared image of an object by the temperature change of the infrared optical system. CONSTITUTION:The infrared image pickup device is provided with the infrared optical system 1 which condenses infrared rays from the object and forms the image thereof on an infrared rays detector 2, a focusing mechanism 7 which focuses the optical system 1 and a focusing control circuit 6 which controls the focusing mechanism 7. Based on narcissus quantity included in a signal outputted by the detector 2, the focusing mechanism 7 is controlled by a focusing signal corresponding to the temperature of the optical system 1 by the control circuit 6. |
