PURPOSE:To provide an electric connector having a constitution such that the lead of a contact protruding backward from an insulator can be precisely aligned by use of a compensating cover, and the compensating cover can be easily mounted. CONSTITUTION:The leads 53 of contacts 50 protruding backward from the rear surface side of an insulator 11 are covered from above with a compensating cover 30 mounted on the back part of the insulator 11. On the lower end surface of the compensating cover 30, a plurality of holding grooves 35 are formed at the same pitch as the arrangement pitch of the leads 53. Therefore, when the compensating cover 30 is mounted on the back part of the insulator as pushing it from above, the part extending backward in each lead 53 is entered into the holding groove 35 and pressed downward. Consequently, the leads 53 are laterally and vertically held and positioned. |
