PURPOSE:To improve the conversion accuracy of the KANA(Japanese syllabary) to KANJI(Chinese character) converter. CONSTITUTION:A KANA reading character-string is inputted from an input device 10, and a KANA to KANJI converting program 34 executes a KANA to KANJI conversion, based on a fundamental dictionary 42, and a word order storage area for storing priority of a word. A rule retrieving program 36 retrieves a rule which coincides with the contents of a conversion result storage area 22 from a rule dictionary 46. A rule rewriting program 37 rewrites the contents of the corresponding conversion result storage area 22 in accordance with the coincident rule. Subsequently, whether a word train whose rule is rewritten by a rule rewriting recovery program 39, and a word immediately after its train can be connected or not is decided, and when they cannot be connected, the part of the word train whose rule is rewritten is returned to its original conversion result saved in an auxiliary storage area 29. Next, the contents of the conversion result storage area 22 are displayed as a KANA/ KANJI character-string. |
