<p>PURPOSE:To prevent an inner face of a rubber molded stress cone and a surface of a cable insulator from being contaminated by carbon and to enhance insulation by a method wherein after an outside semiconductive layer of a power cable is processed to a specified size, the cable is heated and then cooled and after that the rubber molded stress cone is mounted on the cable. CONSTITUTION:A 'Teflon(R)' tape is wound in one layer by a half lap round a cable which has a cable external semiconductive layer 2 exposed in a specified size. Then, the Teflon tape-wound part of the cable is heated by a dryer for a specified period of time at a temperature near a melting point of the cable external semiconductive layer 2. Then, the cable is cooled and then the 'Teflon' tape is removed and the surface is washed. Nextly, a rubber molded stress cone 1 constituted of insulating rubber 1a and conductive rubber 1b is mounted on a cable insulator 3 made from bridged polyethylene 3 to assemble a prefabricated joint. At that time, the rubber molded stress cone 1 is brought onto the cable external semiconductive layer 2 on the right to provide the convenience for mounting components such as an epoxy unit.</p> |
