PURPOSE:To obtain a one-component developing device capable of keeping the quantity of developer in a developer storing chamber nearly constant even when the device is miniaturized and stably forming an excellent image. CONSTITUTION:A feeding and supplying member 5 having plural apertures on the peripheral surface of a cylindrical member, a light emitting device 7 which emits light toward the peripheral surface of the member 5, and a photodetector device 8 for detecting the light which passes inside the member 5 from one of the apertures and is emitted from another aperture are provided in a housing 4 where the developer is stored. The developer is supplied in the housing 4 from a developer storing box 11 by a developer feeding device 9, and a control means 10 controls to drive the developer feeding device based on the received light quantity detected by the device 8. Since the received light quantity by the device 8 is changed according to the quantity of the developer inside the member 5, the quantity of the developer in the housing is controlled to be constant. |
