The invention relates to a process for the preparation of therapeutically active antibodies against novel biologically active transforming growth factor (TGF) polypeptides and antigenic oligopeptides derived therefrom. The invention further relates to biologically active polypeptides and oligopeptides used in the preparation of said antibodies. Antibodies produced according to the invention are useful in the treatment of cancer and other proliferative diseases and in the treatment of osteoporosis.
