This delay structure for a travelling wave tube is of the type comprising an electron beam emitter and an electron beam collector. According to the invention, it is characterised in that it comprises, on the one hand, a composite structure (30) which is formed by several superposed layers of substrate (32, 34, 36, 38, 40), in each of which a cavity is formed for the passage of an electron beam from the emitter to the collector, at least one surface located in each of the layers of substrate being exposed facing the cavity and, on the other hand, multiple segments of conducting material (44, 52, 62, 74, 76) arranged on each of the layers of substrate, so that each of these segments of conducting material is at least partially exposed facing the cavity, these segments of conducting material each located on the layers of substrate overlapping with the segments of conducting material of adjacent layers of substrate, the overlap of these segments of conducting material forming a conducting path, progressing in a predetermined geometrical shape around the peripheral contour of a cavity. <IMAGE> |
