The said composition includes, expressed on a weight basis: - an agent for breaking down the electrostatic barrier present at the surface of the glass, present in proportions of between 0.01% and 5% as pure product, and selected from halogen acids, their salts or a mixture thereof, which agent also has the properties of dissolving carbonates and amorphous silica which are formed by the corrosion of the glass; - at least one agent for rapidly dissolving carbonates, which is present in overall proportions of between 0.02% and 55% as pure product, and selected from inorganic acids and/or organic acids; and - at least one surface-active agent, optionally used in combination with at least one sequestering agent for carbonates, in overall proportions of between 1.3% and 80%.
