A new aluminophosphate compound was prepared with the molar composition 1Al2O3. 0.75-1.25P2O5. 0-0.5XOn/2. 0-0.2F. 0-1R. yH2O, X representing one or a number of heteroatoms and R being an organic compound chosen from the group formed by methylamine, primary amines, secondary amines, tertiary amines or quaternary ammonium hydroxides and salts. Substituted derivatives such as the silicoaluminophosphate have also been prepared. The X-ray diffraction spectrum of the product is given, as well as a method of preparation. The compound applies to the conversion of hydrocarbon feedstocks (reforming, cracking, and the like) and it applies particularly well to the conversion of methanol to olefins.
