PURPOSE:To provide a fuel cell device in which an electrolyte is never moved to other cells in a laminated body of cells mutually separated by a separator and containing the electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:A fuel cell 10 is formed by laminating a number of cells 11 consisting of a pair of an anode electrode 13 and a cathode electrode 14 arranged with an electrolytic layer 15 between. Each of the anode electrode 13 and the cathode electrode 14 has a means for supplying gas fuel and oxygen. On the end part side surface of a separator 12 impermeable to liquid and wettable to electrolyte which is inserted between the adjacent cells of the fuel cell to connect the respective cells, an electrolyte movement preventing means for preventing the movement of the electrolyte to other cells is provided by forming the layer of a water-repelling material never wetted with the electrolyte. |
