PURPOSE: To increase the image processing capability by smoothing border lines between blocks and sequentially scanning elements of a data array on a data array block border line. CONSTITUTION: A median of a filter on a block line 1 in a vertical direction corresponds to pixels 7 of an image and weighted modification of values of the pixels 7 is obtained with weighted modification of values of adjacent pixels 8, 9. Then a smoothed value of the pixel 7 is generated and discontinuity of border lines 1, 3, 13, 14 between blocks 2 caused by compression is smoothed. Then elements 7, 8, 9 of a data array are sequentially scanned at borders of the data array block by a linear operator matrix 6. Through the application of the linear filter along with a block 2 of the image in both horizontal and vertical directions, maintenance of details of the image is allowed, extraction of a memory is simplified and the processing capability is improved. |
