The invention relates to a method and to an apparatus for manufacturing shoes (2) having border parts which form a peripheral projection (9), particularly in order to constitute a sole (5), by injection of a plastic material, the apparatus (1) including a last (10), two half-rings (18) and a main injection body (22). The problem to be solved consists in correctly arranging the projection in a simple manner. According to the invention, the half-rings (18) are brought into an open position, the last (10) is positioned so that the projection is above the half-rings, the latter are brought into an intermediate position, then the last is lowered, the half-rings are brought into the closed position and the plastic material is injected after the body (22) has been lowered. The invention is applicable to the manufacture of shoes with a sole made from plastic material. <IMAGE>
