A spanner (130) having an elongate handle (133) with a rotatable tool carrier (135), such as a ratchet type socket drive, at one end and a handgrip (134) at the other end. A driver (132) has a drive input (141) operable remote from the tool carrier (135) to rotate the tool carrier (135) with the handle (133) held stationary. The driver (132) has a link arm (138) pivotally connected to a pair of spaced-apart crank arms (139, 140) which are in turn connected to drive input (141) and the tool carrier (135). Preferably, the driver (132) forms a substantially parallel linkage. |
