For reciprocating piston internal combustion engines which have a piston displacement with two separate injections, one ignition chamber per cylinder 11 has an injection pump 23 without adjustable delivery for a separate fuel injection. In reciprocating piston internal combustion engines which have a piston displacement with only one injection, one ignition chamber 20 per cylinder 11 has a glow device as starting aid, for example in the form of an electrical spiral-type permanent glow plug, and/or an ignition pin of temperature resistant, heat-retaining material extending into the area of the centre of the ignition chamber. ……
