<p>Dental reconstitution compsns. comprise a mixt. of a finely divided inert mineral filler and a polymerisable liq. resin binder. The improvement lies in the fact that at least a major proportion of the filler is Ti silicate (I). The filler pref. comprises >=65 (esp. 100) wt.% (I) with an av. particle size of =10 (esp. 1.1-3.5) mu m. (I) is commercially available as 'Corning No. 7971 ULE'. The wt. ratio of filler to binder is pref. 1-6:1. Standard binders (esp. acrylic resins) and other additives can be used. The compsns. have a low coefft. of thermal expansion, high compressive strength, and similar optical properties (refractive index and translucency) to natural dental enamel.</p> |
