The appts. has a housing mfd. of nonconductive plastic, with a guidance shaft (9) rotatable about an axial needle bearing (12,13) to guide a rod (3) into an elongated hole. Two sliding balls (5) on the rod are guided to an inclined plane in the housing so that the rod rolls back to its zero position aided by a spring (7) with an adjustment nut (8). Such switches are installed at five contact points on the tractor and trailer.
