An electromechanical push-button (11) actuated switch is intended for flush mounting in the door panel of a road vehicle. The push- button element is set into a moulded elastomer diaphragm (22) fixed to the base plate (14). The latter has circular contacts (16) formed on the top surface. A bridging contact is dish shaped (21) and is supported in the push-button displaced against a spring (13). The main body of the switch is secured in the door recess by an O-ring (9) that locates in formed grooves (5, 8). USE/ADVANTAGE - Simple to install in door panel yet secure against weathering and unauthorised disassembly. Suitable for railway carriage or tram door with facility for opening by passenger.
