<p>The rev limiting device has an oscillation circuit (44, 46, 48) associated with the stator or rotor, containing an inductor and capacitor, with inductance and capacitance values which generate a force causing a decrease in the motor revs when the revs lie in a range above a given threshold value. The inductance of the oscillator circuit (44, 46, 48) is provided by a winding section of the motor energising winding (26, 28, 30), supplied with current to provide the varying magnetic field, wach oscillator circuit (44, 46, 48) pref. also containing an ohmic matching impedance (56, 58, 60).
