The newly designated subframes are displayed on a vacant area when the number of subframe is changed. The apparatus includes a multi- mode set unit (10) for generating digital control data according to input key signals, a display (30) for displaying multi-mode operating states, an one-bit address memory (60) for storing area data of each sub-frames, a frame memory (50) for storing digital video signals of respective sub-frames on corresponding area, and a frame memory controller (40) for sending area and state data to the frame memory.
