An arrangement for acquiring medical x-ray images contains an x-ray image sensor in an outer housing with an x-ray fluorescence element, a solid state image acquisition device and a number of optical fibre bundles connecting the fluorescent surface of the fluorescent element to the image acquisition surface. An x-ray intensity detector element is arranged in the housing close to the x-ray fluorescent element. The intensity detector element is mounted on the upper or lower side of a carrier on which the image acquisition device is mounted. A chip form CCD is mounted on a ceramic substrate. Bundles of glass fibres (3) terminate on the imaging surface of the CCD and lead to the fluorescent surface of an X-ray fluorescent element. USE/ADVANTAGE - X-ray images of increased sharpness and resolution achieved with elimination of unnecessary scattered x-rays.
