The interior of the boot or luggage space of a motor vehicle is enclosed by a sheet metal insert (1). The insert has walls (3) which extend vertically inwards. The upper edges (2) of these walls are turned inwards (6) and upwards (7) with rounded corners (4). When such a boot or luggage space is line with a textile fabric the turned in and rounded edges prevent chafing which could result in the lining being damaged.
