Bores at the cold end of a coolable high current junction piece project into the heat exchange zone. An insert fitted with a superconductive wire is inserted into each bore and conductively connected with the wall of the bore by further steps, so that it conducts well current and heat. During operation, this design decouples heat generation (no I<2>R) in the area of the bores. Heat generation is limited to the clamping area between the superconductive component and the cold end of the current supply on the one hand and the normal conductive heat exchange area and hot end on the other hand. By adapting the flow of coolant to the working current, a purely monotonous ascending temperature curve can be maintained along the current supply for all currents.
