The invention concerns a process and a device for processing mixtures of materials in which the mixture is divided into portions of given size, having previously been crushed and/or screened for the subsequent division into portions, and the portions thus produced then further processed in such a way that, when placed together again, they will not adhere to each other and can be fed in the "detached" state to separating equipment which will separate the mixture into product categories with approximately the same properties.
