The invention relates to support devices, for example, as used to support service lines from the roof in an underground mine. A load-bearing member (23) and support bracket (22) are stacked together and temporarily fixed by means of a tab (24). The stacked arrangement (22, 23) is emplaced to the mine roof (26) by a rock bolt (25) which is secured by a point contact adhesive (27) and nut (28). The bracket (22) has keyholes (3) spaced along its length which serve as locking points for chains (21), from which services such as pipes (18) can be hung. The emplaced brackets (22) are spaced along the roof (26) so as to provide support for the pipes (18) along their route. The large number of keyholes (3) allows lateral positional adjustment at each bracket (22).
