Conductor strip has one or more metallic through-conductors (9) arranged to be connected externally at any selected position and arranged on, or in a non-conductive base strip (5). The conductor(s) (9) are pref. embedded in a conductive string or cord (8) of plastic material. Because of the inherent resiliency and/or springiness of the structure, the conductor strip (1) is automatically lockable by outward expansion or springing of the strip, the free ends of the strip being engaged behind projections (4) of an installation channel (3).
