A coating of thermo-setting plastics is applied to a flat workpiece with rounded edges in the following way. The workpiece, with the sheet of thermo-setting plastic bonded to its undersurface, is placed on a work table. The sheet of plastic is of such a size that its edges (11) project beyond the curved edge (12) of the workpiece (9). The workpiece and sheet are positioned so that the edge of the sheet projects over the edge of the work-table. The projecting region (11) of the sheet is then heated by an electric heating element (3). USE/ADVANTAGE - Applying a sheet of thermo-setting plastic to the curved edge of a workpiece by means of a simple appliance.
