A reactive compsn. comprises a cpd. (I) contg. active methylene gps. an olefinically unsatd. cpd. (II), a tert. amine and an epoxide. An alternative compsn. comprises (I) and (II) in which (II) comprises fumarate and maleate esters, with fumarate providing at least 40% of the double bonds. The acid level of the compsn. is less than 0.4 milliequivalents/1 gram. (I) is pref. an ester or amide of acetoacetic, malonic or cyanoacetic acid. (I) is a high Michael addition product of acrylic acid or is an acrylate, beta-acryloxypropionate, methacrylate, fumarate or maleate polymer. |
