The invention relates to an apparatus for bending glass sheets. The apparatus includes a ring mould (1) for supporting a heated glass sheet (2) during the course of its bending, a manipulable mould wagon (3) for carrying mould (1), and a hoist mechanism (4-11) for supporting mould wagon (3) and manipulating it in vertical direction. Mould (1) or wagon (3) is provided with heating resistances (19) for the local extra heating of glass sheet (2) and mould (1) or wagon (3) is provided with connecting studs (15) coupled with conductors (18) to heating resistances (19). Hoist mechanism (4-11) is provided with connecting studs (14) coupled with conductors (12) to a power source and adapted to coincide with connecting studs (15) included in the wagon or mould as said mould wagon (3) is at least partially supported by hoist mechanism (4-11) or as mould wagon (3) located at a certain position is approached by hoist mechanism (4-11) from below. The apparatus facilitates the optional use of precisely focused extra heating. |
