A single or multi-layer piezo ceramic servo setter (1) is displaced in a vibratory manner by applying an alternating voltage or pulsed voltage in the direction of the resulting electric field. The servo setter is coupled to a diaphragm (5). The transverse contraction or expansion of the servo setter (1) is transmitted to the diaphragm (5) such that the latter vibrates expanding in a direction perpendicular to the movement of the setter (1) or radial movement of the latter (1) causes the diaphragm connected to it to flex. USE/ADVANTAGE - For loudspeaker(s) reducing perceived noise from machinery by producing sound opposite in phase to that picked up by microphone(s). Converts small movement of servo adjuster into large amplitude vibration. Increases width of adjustable gap.
