APPARATUS AND PROCESS FOR DIVERSING WASTE WATERS

Domestic effluent is treated and transferred, by a system comprising a gravity channel, collector pipework, treatment facilities and a non-return valve upstream of the collector pipework. The treatment facilties are located near the source of the effluent. The facilities include a suitable pump, which discharges through a pipe generally smaller than the gravity channel. The facilities are divided into sludge space, water space, and in some cases, a filter unit. This is pref. provided with 1-5 mm openings. The proposed method involves the treatment of the effluent at the facilities noted above. The solid and liquid phases are sepd. by filtration and/or settlement, and the liq. phase is pumped away
