A drum and hydraulic power drive system incorporated within the interior of a drum (10) used for reeling cable in and out, a reversible electric motor (20) which drives the drum (10) from the inside through a gearset (26, 28, 38, 40). Also carried within the drum is a hydraulic power generating system (21) including a manifold structure (42), a gear pump (55) driven directly from the opposite end of the reversibly motor (20) operating in a closed hydraulic circuit to supply hydraulic pressure for example to reversibly move a piston (49) in a cylinder (47). |
