DETECTING METHOD OF POSITION OF MACHINE BODY OF AUTOMATIC TUNNEL BORING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To make it possible to excavate the section of a tunnel accurately and efficiently by always detecting automatically a shift of the position of a machine body of an automatic boring machine in the course of boring the tunnel and by positioning a cutting drum at a prescribed position at all times on the basis of the result of detection. CONSTITUTION:Rotating laser beams emitted from a horizontal rotation laser light emitting device 13 and a vertical rotation laser light emitting device 11 provided in a tunnel are detected by a horizontal laser detector 7 and vertical laser detectors 5 and 6 provided on a machine body of a boring machine. Detected values are subjected to an arithmetic processing by a microcomputer and the amounts of displacement in the vertical and lateral directions of the machine body from the axis of the tunnel and a tilt of the longitudinal axis of the machine body to the axis of the tunnel are calculated.
