PURPOSE:To provide a time correction device for automatically correcting time indicated by a timepiece when receiving an image signal by which time is indicated on the screen of a VTR, a television receiver, a cable television receiver, etc., having a built-in timepiece. CONSTITUTION:A time correction device is provided with a means 5 for detecting a time indicating image signal superimposed on an image signal being received and for extracting this time indicating image signal detected and a means 6 for recognizing time indicated by the time indicating image signal extracted. The device is further provided with a means 7 for originating time data indicating this recognized time and a means 8 for correcting according to the originated time data the time indicated by a built-in timepiece 3. |
