<p>PURPOSE:To uniformly heat the whole body of a slab and to reduce the electric power consumption by arranging an inorganic material-made coating member as vertically shiftable at roof part side above the material to be heated in an induction heating apparatus arranging an induction heating coil so as to surround the material to be heated. CONSTITUTION:The induction heating apparatus consists of a furnace walls 5 in the side surfaces, a furnace cover 4 in the roof part and a slab laying table 3, and on the slab laying table 3, the long slab 2 is laid and heated by the induction heating coil 6 arranged at the furnace walls 5 so as to surround the slab 2. Then, in the space part between the slab 2 and the upper furnace cover 4, the inorganic material-made suspended ceiling structural coating members 1 connected to the suitable driving devices and divided with supporting rods 7 penetrating the furnace cover 4 (or integrally) are arranged as vertically shiftable. This each divided coating member 1 is vertically shifted with the supporting rod 7, and by holding and fixing the coating member 1 to the optional position corresponding to the height of the slab 2, local temp. lowering of the slab 2 is prevented and the basic unit of the electric power is reduced.</p> |
