<p>PURPOSE:To enhance efficiency in transferring to an assembly position an engine assembly received at a transfer position to assemble the engine assembly to a car body which is temporarily stopped at the assembly position by conveying the body while hanging it, and conveying the engine assembly being hung to the transfer position. CONSTITUTION:An engine assembly E is put on a first pallet 27 at a transfer position PT and the first pallet 27 is moved from the transfer position PT to a change position PC and then a vacant second pallet 27 at the change position PC is thrusted from the change position PC to a waiting position PW and the first pallet 27 on which the engine assembly E is placed is moved from the change position PC to an assembly position PM and then the engine assembly E is assembled to a body B, and while the vacant first pallet 27 is returned to the change position PC, the vacant second pallet 27 at the waiting position PW is moved to the transfer position PT.</p> |
