PURPOSE:To eliminate any sense of incompatibility in steering force at the time of starting a steering operation immediately after the detection of something wrong. CONSTITUTION:A steering angle speed sensor part 30 feeds a fail-safe device 31 with a detection signal when it detects the steering angle of a steering wheel 15 and its variation. A trouble detector 32 is connected to a car speed sensor 16, and at a time when trouble is detected, it feeds the fail-safe device 31 with a trouble detection signal. The fail-safe device 31 outputs a command for holding a feed current to an external control variable throttle solenoid, to a control unit 17 when it inputs the trouble detection signal out of the trouble detector, while it inputs a steering angle changing signal out of the steering angle speed sensor part 30 or feeds a command in the expanding direction of an external control variable throttle area when the specified time elapses. |
