. The invention deals with the but-welded connection between the endwall (2') and the body (1) of a thermoplastic container. Contrary to the known connection the invention provides the endwall with an axially extending edge (10),which may form part of a gripping edge (3') and which overlaps the weld (8'),sothat the weld beads (9') are hidden,whilst further the area of transition between the endwall (5') and its edge (3',10) above the weld has an axial thickness (b2) which is in essence the same as the thickness of the endwall (5') and the radial thickness of the axially extending edge (10) of the endwall,sothat the materialflow of the plastic during molding of the endwall is more even.
