<p>PURPOSE:To alloy a centrifugal compressor to operate without risk of generating surges and revolution stall over to the low rate-of-flow range by inclining the front edge of a stationary vane to the downstream, and installing aux. vanes having a comparatively short chord on the inside of the stationary vanes in such a way as confronting them. CONSTITUTION:In a centrifugal compressor, the area between an impeller 1 and casing 5 works as a diffuser to convert the kinetic energy of the flow out of the impeller 1 into the pressure. At the front edge of each stationary wane 2 is installed rigidly an attachment stationary vane 3 which has a height equal to or smaller than that of the stationary wane 2 and whose front edge is inclined toward the downstream in the area from a side late 7 to a core plate 8. Between adjoining stationary vanes 2, 2, an aux. vane 4 having a smaller chord length and height than the stationary vanes 2 is installed in such an arrangement that only one of the vane 4 surfaces is confronting stationary vane 2. The front edge of this aux. edge 4 is inclined to downstream in the area from the side plate 7 to the core plate 8. Thereby a flow near' the tangential can be introduced vigorously into the direction of stationary vane 2, and revolution stall is thus prevented.</p> |
