摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain recording and reproduction characteristics with a wide recording power margin, by performing simultaneous sputtering using a first target comprising tellurium and selenium as main constituents and a second target comprising titanium as a main constituent, thereby forming a recording layer comprising tellurium, selenium and titanium as main constituents. CONSTITUTION:An optical recording medium comprises a substrate on which is provided a recording layer for recording information through selective removal of a part of the layer by laser light. In producing the optical recording medium, simultaneous sputtering is carried out using a first target comprising tellurium and selenium as main constituents and a second targe comprising titanium as a main constituent, thereby forming the recording layer comprising tellurium, selenium and titanium as main constituents. With the two kinds of targets simultaneously served to sputtering, an optical recording medium having recording and reproduction characteristics with a wide recording power margin can be produced with favorable reproducibility.
